The Silk Tree Alley in "East Summer Lane," an old town, is Lin Xiaoman's childhood anchor—her grandfather's old bookstore, the sugar painting stall at the alley entrance, and the century-old silk tree planted by her grandfather and his first love. But when Chen Mo, a developer representative, arrives with a demolition order, this bustling haven is instantly at risk.
